Hello and thank you all for coming to join us this evening. We meet here on the first Monday of every month to remember the UK women who have been killed by men. This is the 23 rd time we have met now, prompted by the murder of Sarah Everard on 3 March 2021 . We hoped that the high profile nature of that case would have prompted the press and politicians to take this social epidemic seriously and try to shine a light on the root causes. Sadly that hasn’t been the case. We’ve been reading a new report that highlight the horrible statistics in this area and also look at the roots causes and we’re hoping to work with the author – Polly Newall – to raise awareness across the board.
