familial relationship between the victims & the accused
So, as we are here by the commemorative bench of Amelie Delagrange
it now transpires that last week her murderer Levi Bellfield has now confessed
whilst in prison to the killing of Lin Russell & her daughter Megan aged 6
in Chilenden Kent 1996, along with the family dog, leaving her other daughter
Josie, then aged 9 with severe head injuries, but she survived. Bellfield has
confessed to his Lawyer after engaging with prison psychologists & feels he
needs to take responsibility so the families can have closure. Josie moved with
her Father to Wales, she graduated from Coleg Menai in Bangor with a degree in
Graphic Design in 2009 & is now a textile landscape artist & is now
engaged to long term partner Iwan Griffen.
Bellfield is currently serving x2 whole life terms for the
murders of two young women 19 year old Marsha McDonnell in 2003, 22 year old
Amelie Delagrange in 2004, as well as trying to murder 18 year old Kate
Sheedy in the same year, he was already serving his sentence when he went on
trial for killing schoolgirl 13 year old Milly Dowler who was snatched whilst
walking home from school in Walton on Thames in March 2002. Bellfield was found
guilty of abducting & killing following a Trial @ the old Baily in 2011
Meanwhile, Michael Stone 62 is serving x 3 life sentences, a
minimum of 25 years, for the killing of Lin & Megan Russell in 1998, for
which he has always protested his innocence & has to date served 23 years.
He has not sought parole until his conviction for the murders is quashed. Kent
police says its position on the case remains unchanged.
So again is this another situation of the police not doing
the job properly?
I don't want to go further into the negativity we are all
experiencing with people not doing their jobs for whatever reason - but to take
some joy in the success of our Sportswomen!!
So, six Nations Red Roses rugby grand slam @ Twickenham last
Saturday, England 38 France 33, 58,498 fans - Amazing! England were crowned Six
Nations champions for a fifth successive year !!
After 50 years since the first ever England Lionesses side
was formed in the wake of the FA's ban on women's football being lifted, was
the UEFA Women's Euro Germany 2-1 win over in front of
90,000 fans, & the most watched womens football match ever in the UK,
reaching a peak audience on the BBC of 17.4 m & a further 5.9 m on digital
streams, the country's first major tournament for 56 years. The FA
Council explained the ban by saying 'The game of football is quite unsuitable
for females & out not to be encouraged'.
Well I don't know about you but I find every aspect of the
women's game far more exciting than the men's, & guess what, pay disparity
@ club level something like 100% more for the male players, although they both
receive the same appearance fee.
